โ The Jaisalmer ยท Agreements โ
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. About These Terms
These terms govern all bookings made through thejaisalmer.com ("The Jaisalmer", "we", "us"), a tour operator based at Indira Colony, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001, India. By confirming a booking with us โ online, by phone, by WhatsApp or in person โ you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone travelling in your group.
2. Our Services
We arrange Jaisalmer city tours, desert safaris, camp stays, multi-day tour packages, taxi and tempo traveller services. Some components are operated by us; others (hotel rooms, desert tents, certain drives) are arranged as the booking agent of handpicked local partners. Your written confirmation states exactly which services are included in your package price.
3. Booking & Confirmation
- Quotes are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise.
- A booking is confirmed only when we receive the stated amount and send a written confirmation with dates, itinerary and inclusions.
- You are responsible for checking names, dates and guest counts on the confirmation and telling us about errors within 24 hours.
4. Payments & Prices
- Payments are accepted by UPI, bank transfer, or approved payment links.
- Packages can typically be held with a deposit of 25โ50%; the balance is due before departure or on arrival as agreed in writing.
- Prices published on our website are per-person or per-couple as labelled and may change between seasons; the price in your written confirmation is final for that booking.
5. Inclusions & Exclusions
- Included: services listed in your confirmation โ typically stay, dedicated AC cab with driver, listed safaris and activities, and meals where mentioned.
- Not included: charges not expressly listed in your confirmation โ for example monument entry tickets, camera fees, personal shopping, tips, extra activities beyond the itinerary, or travel to and from Jaisalmer unless your package includes pickup from Jodhpur or another city.
6. Travel Documents & Identification
- Indian guests must carry a government photo ID (Aadhaar, driving licence, voter ID or passport) for hotel and camp check-ins.
- Areas near the international border โ including Tanot Mata and Longewala โ may require identity documents to be shown at security checkpoints, and passport/visa for foreign nationals. Access rules are set by local authorities and are outside our control.
- Guests who cannot present required documents may be refused entry by authorities or partners without refund obligation on our part.
7. Changes To Your Itinerary
We may make reasonable operational changes โ for example reordering sightseeing or upgrading a route โ without reducing your entitlements. Anything beyond minor changes is handled per our Cancellation Policy.
8. Your Responsibilities
- Be on time at pickup points; drivers wait up to 15 minutes (30 at railway stations) before departing.
- Follow safety instructions from drivers, camel handlers, guides and camp staff during safaris and dune activities.
- You are financially responsible for damage you cause to vehicles, tents or property.
- Please treat our teams and local communities respectfully โ we may decline future bookings for abusive conduct.
9. Health, Safety & Fitness
- Desert safaris, camel rides and dune driving are adventure activities; you join them at your own informed risk after listening to safety briefings.
- Tell us about relevant medical conditions (for example, back problems, pregnancy, cardiac conditions) before booking so we can advise suitability.
- Alcohol is not permitted before or during any activity involving a vehicle or animal.
10. Liability
We take responsibility for delivering the services we confirm, and for the professional standard of our own team. Where a service is provided by an independent hotel, camp or transport provider, their terms and safety practices apply to that component. Our liability, where we are at fault, is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected booking. We are not liable for events beyond reasonable control, including government access restrictions, natural events, transport strikes, or personal losses such as theft of belongings.
11. Force Majeure
If war, border closures, epidemics, extreme weather or other force majeure events make the tour unsafe or impossible, we will offer a reschedule or refund of recoverable costs, and both parties agree to deal in good faith. See our Cancellation Policy for specifics.
12. Photography & Media
We may take photos during tours for our website and social pages. Tell your team host if you prefer not to be photographed, and we will respect your choice.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts at Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
